A note from Cliff
While it’s certainly been another busy few months for the business, I can’t say mine was all work! I was lucky enough to take nearly two months of long service leave, where my wife and I visited our daughter in London (the city where we first met all those years ago) before travelling around Europe. It truly was a trip of a lifetime – and for those wondering, Cinque Terre in Italy was my favourite place. Well worth a visit! I’m lucky to have such a great team who kept things charging forward while I was away. Thank you all for the extra effort you put in!
Reflections on the Employee Engagement Survey
It’s not just me who has recognised how great our team is – the results of our recent Employee Engagement Survey show it too. I was thrilled to see that alignment and involvement, social connection and being supported in your work are areas our people really value. The results were also very insightful in showing where we can improve, and I’m looking forward to working on plans to deliver against the areas you’ve highlighted.
We’ll go into more detail about the results in the weeks to come. Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts – your feedback really matters.
Values Awards Now Open
It feels especially timely then that nominations for the 2025 Values Awards are now open. These awards are about celebrating the people who bring our values to life every day. If you’ve got a teammate who goes above and beyond, this is the chance to recognise them. Entries close on 19 October, so don’t miss the opportunity to put someone forward.
Moranbah Momentum
On the business front, the big story is Moranbah. Our investment in local capability is paying off, with three major contracts recently secured or extended in the region. Having both our specialist AN storage facility and long-established emulsion plant in Moranbah means we can offer faster turnarounds, greater efficiency, and truly local service. On top of that, we’ve made an important improvement to our emulsion formulation so it’s now compatible with additive diesel fuels. This future-proofs supply for clients and keeps us ahead as the industry shifts toward newer, cleaner fuel types.
Moranbah is also central to our community story – from supporting local events to connecting with students about future careers. And if you’re travelling through, keep an eye out at the airport where you’ll see our new advertising campaign, initially focusing on recruitment to support our big growth in the area.
I’m proud of the progress we’re making in the Moranbah region and right across the business. Thank you for the role each of you plays in driving that momentum forward.
Thank you for all your efforts,
Cliff
