It’s hard to believe Easter is already upon us!  While it may have felt like a slow start to the year for many of you with all the rain disruption we’ve had recently, it’s been anything but slow behind the scenes for those working hard to push forward with our diversification strategy.

A prime example of this is our new down-the-hole services contract at Blackridge Gold Mine, which is a significant step for us as we push to expand into the gold and minerals mining sector. We’re also in the final mix for a major iron ore contract in WA. While we’re not there yet, just being one of the short-listed parties is a clear sign of how far Platinum has come and how we’re increasingly being seen as a key player in the industry.

We have also been busy with the opening of our new AN storage and handling facility in Moranbah, which gives us a significant advantage in offering faster, more efficient solutions for existing and prospective clients in the region as it’s the only facility of its kind in the Bowen Basin.

You may remember that last year we began diversifying into quarrying, and I’m so proud of how we’ve delivered on this new venture. Our client recently shared some fantastic feedback, which you can read about in this newsletter. For me, the standout was their praise for our “work with you” and “how can we help” attitude. That’s what truly sets us apart, and it’s great to see that our culture continues to shine through in everything we do.

We’re showcasing our unique culture in our recruitment advertising. As you know, the mining industry is highly competitive, so we’re rolling out radio ads and billboards in Moranbah to stand out. We’re focusing on how our colleagues are more than just numbers—they’re part of a strong, supportive team. Many people leave for other opportunities, but the thing that draws so many back is the culture here at Platinum. That’s something we should all be incredibly proud of.

As we head into the Easter break, I hope you all get to spend some quality time with your loved ones. It’s been a great start to the year, and I’m excited about what’s to come.
