A note from Cliff

Hi everyone,

Wow, what a year!

Congratulations to our Values Award Winners

As I reflect on our recent Values Awards nominations and presentation, I can’t help but feel an immense sense of pride. It was a fitting way to close out the year and celebrate the incredible people who make Platinum what it is.

A massive congratulations – and more importantly, thank you – to our Employee of the Year, Tim, and our Values Award winners, Anton, Wayne and Walker. Their stories are truly inspiring, and you can read all about why they were so deserving of these recognitions in this newsletter. What struck me the most is that despite receiving different awards, they all share something powerful in common: a selflessness, positive attitude, and a true team-player mindset.

We’ve talked about this before, but what really sets us apart is our people. At Platinum, we don’t just hire for skills; we hire for cultural fit. After all, we can’t promise to make mining easier for our clients without having the right team to make that happen. It all hinges on our people.

While Tim, Anton, Wayne, and Walker are our official winners, I have to say, I was impressed by the volume of nominations we received and the obvious passion with which they were written. It’s clear to me that our new Values have truly taken root, and our Values Awards have provided a wonderful way to celebrate this.

A Look Back on the Year

Looking back on 2024, we’ve had so much to be proud of, and our 10-year anniversary was a key milestone in what has been another incredible year of growth and diversification. From winning the Blair Athol contract and renewing at Foxleigh, to our expansion into the quarry sector and third-party emulsion supplies, we’ve continued to diversify and grow.

We’ve also been laying the groundwork for continued success in the years ahead. Our rebranding has been key, helping us present a clearer, bolder service offering—and the positive feedback from the industry speaks volumes. We’ve also doubled down on investing in our people, with ongoing training and development to help our team grow alongside the business.

In addition to our new partnership with Kinara Power, which will see us manufacture “greener” explosives and make strides into WA, we’ve also gained approval for, and begun construction of, a significant new storage and logistics facility in Moranbah, positioning us for continued growth in Queensland. These strategic initiatives not only reflect our commitment to diversification but also ensure that we’re strengthening Platinum for the future, empowering us to compete with the industry’s biggest players.

A Big Thank You

As the year winds down, I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of you for your hard work and dedication in making this year such a success. Your commitment is what keeps Platinum moving forward, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together in 2025.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope you enjoy some well-deserved downtime with your loved ones.

All the best,

Cliff
