Two Big Contract Extensions Across the Bowen Basin
We’re carrying great momentum into the year ahead, having recently secured two important contract extensions across the Bowen Basin – one at Vitrinite’s Vulcan Mine and another at Peabody and Yancoal’s Middlemount Mine. Both wins are a huge credit to the teams on the ground who continue to deliver great service, strong relationships and a genuine can-do attitude.
Vulcan Mine Extension
Our work at Vulcan has been rewarded with a new three-year term. The mine, which produces semihard coking coal and PCI for export, has big growth plans, and this extension puts us in a great position to support them as they ramp up.
We’ll kick off with two MPUs, operators, and bulk Hydra R emulsion supplied from Moranbah. That’s our starting lineup, with the scope set to grow and evolve as Vulcan’s operations expand – especially with Vulcan South gearing up over the coming months.
Middlemount Extension
We’re also thrilled to continue our long-running partnership at Middlemount with another three-year contract extension. We’ve been operating there since 2022, and this renewal is a strong recognition of the team’s reliability, responsiveness and consistent support on site.
Under the extension, we’ll continue providing one MPU, two back-to-back operators and stemming support through both a loader and a truck.
