Men’s Health Week

National Men’s Health Week is 10-16  June and what better way to celebrate by encouraging you to take care of your health.  This week is all about healthy bodies, exercise, a good diet and regular visits to the doctor.

This is an opportunity to take time out for yourself and remind you to take care of your mind and body.

A few facts

  • Most men aren’t active enough to stay healthy.
  • Being unfit can be as bad for you as smoking.
  • Being active keeps your body and mind healthy and cuts the risk of disease
  • Sit less = live longer.

Things to do:

1.      Make an appointment – make that appointment you have been putting off. When was the last time you had your skin checked or your bloods done? Do you need to schedule a test?  Make that appointment and put it in your calendar.

2.      Head to the gym – Use this week to get yourself moving!  Go to the gym, take a long walk, swim some laps or take a bike ride.  Your body will thank you and it may be the start of a weekly ritual.
